About Hippo Leasing

At Hippo we’re not unfamiliar to the motor industry. Hippo was set up by Thomas and Richard, part of the well-known Preston family of Lancashire, who’ve been trading in the area since 1906.

Initially set up by our founder George Preston, we were successful coal merchants, but by 1960 we changed direction and entered into the motor trade.

A Bedford franchise was set up and due to our enviable reputation for customer service, we were fortunate to secure franchises and partnerships from some of the world’s top manufacturers such as Mitsubishi, Land Rover, BMW and MINI.

In 2013 we moved to our purpose built £2m showroom in Blackburn as a hub for us to prepare and deliver high quality vehicles throughout the UK. Should you be able to visit us, outside the showroom you will be able to browse leasing vehicles from all the major manufacturers and inside you will see our sister company, Hippo Prestiges wide range of luxury and prestige vehicles.

Throughout 2017 we're making fantastic progress with additional forecourts for both our Hippo Leasing and Prestige ranges which will see our range of vehicles on display increase to over 500 at any one time. In the meantime, you can view over 8,000 new and used vehicles for lease on Hippo Leasing.

Over the years we have developed and grown, gaining valuable experience within our trade. All this has helped us achieve some of the best deals available, so that we can be as competitive as possible, keeping the most important person happy, you our customer.

We understand that you have an extensive choice as to where to purchase your next vehicle but we are confident that if you choose Hippo, we can find the best deal on the market for you.

The below timeline shows you exactly how far we have come as a family business before finally forming the Hippo Motor Group, and Hippo Leasing, in 2007. If you'd like to see it in more detail, click the image for an enlarged version:
