Jeep has announced its upcoming Grand Cherokee SUV will be exclusively available in plug-in hybrid form when it is released later this year.

The first Grand Cherokee plug-in hybrid will deliver 380hp of combined power and 637Nm of torque, with up to 31 miles of electric range available. Three drive modes – hybrid, electric and e-save – will also feature.

The fifth generation of the highly capable SUV features a completely renewed architecture, new interior and exterior design, cutting-edge technologies and superior levels of luxury and refinement.

Performance, comfort and unparalleled off-road capabilities also set a new standard for the full-size SUV segment. Equipped with state-of-the-art systems, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has been designed to offer unparalleled off-road capabilities and safe driving dynamics, with the Quadra-Drive II 4×4 drive systems offering a choice of five driving modes – Auto, Snow, Sand/Mud, Rock, and Sport – to ensure the Grand Cherokee retains the Jeep brand’s legendary 4×4 capabilities.

Jeep will be offering a free wallbox for home charging, four years of Jeep servicing and roadside assistance for those who pre-order the Grand Cherokee 4xe Summit Reserve.

The Summit Reserve stands out for its wide-ranging specification, including a new 10-inch heads-up display in the windscreen, night vision camera, digital rear mirror and full-LED headlamps. An exclusive 10.25-inch interactive display for the front seat passenger also features showing navigation, camera image display and entertainment.

Other highlights of the interior include walnut accents and door/seat upholstery in Palermo leather and a full suite of customisable LED lights with day/night settings and an ambient lighting system.

21-inch polished alloy wheels – the largest ever on a Grand Cherokee – will also be offered alongside a contrast roof.

Further details, including range, price and release are expected at a later date.
