While the weather is currently suitably grim in the UK, with any luck you’ll be driving through the picturesque and vibrant streets of Mexico by the weekend… well, if you have an Xbox One or PC at any rate. Yep, Forza Horizon 5 is released on 5th November 2021, with the fifth installment of the open-world racing game located in sunny Mexico this time.

But with over 500 cars to choose from, including everything from classics to hypercars, which makes and models are actually available for you to drive in real life? We’ve picked out a varied list of five of our car leasing deals currently available so you can make virtual reality actual reality.

Audi RS6

One of the things that sets a special car apart from a runaround is that it will genuinely make you smile. And once you’ve been behind the wheel of an Audi RS6 you’ll definitely be smiling!

With a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo TFSI engine with quattro permanent all-wheel drive, you can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds thanks to its 600ps power and 800 Nm of torque.

With a suspension set up offering a variety of driving modes allowing you to cater your journeys to long-distance comfort or performance, the RS6 throws practicality into the mix by offering 1,680 litres of luggage space.

Delivering a high-performance sports car experience, coupled with uncompromising design and brilliant everyday usability, the RS6 is truly one of those rare models that can do everything and do it really well.

BMW Z4

Having taken the legendary BMW 507 as its inspiration, the BMW Z4 is now in its third generation having originally been launched in 2002.

A timeless classic with a modern twist, the Z4 is characterised by its split twin exhaust pipes and a new approach to BMW’s iconic kidney grille. A new stylish soft top that unfolds in only 10 seconds at up to a speed of 31mph finishes off its unique touches.

With a M TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder petrol engine unleashing 340hp and 500 Nm of torque, the Z4 can reach 0-62 in just 4.6 seconds. Complementing those sporty stats is firm suspension, short wheelbase and even weight distribution to offer superior handling and tremendous agility.

Ford Mustang

Perhaps the most noticeable name on the list, few cars are more iconic than the Ford Mustang. And when you throw its famed V8 engine into the mix it makes it that much more special.

Aggressively styled thanks to its sharp lines and retro touches, it’s able to deliver exhilaration on demand, the 5.0-litre V8 Mach 1 engine is capable of a colossal 460ps and 529 Nm of torque meaning a 0-62mph time of 4.4 seconds.

Four drive modes further add to that level of performance, with Normal, Sport+, Track and Snow/Wet adjusting the car’s throttle, steering and stability control to offer unique experiences suitable to your driving style.

Delivering outstanding performance and handling at a price few others cars on this list can match, the Mustang is one of the last muscle cars available in the UK. Get it while you can.

Honda Civic Type R

Based on the already-a-bit-mean-looking Honda Civic, the Type R performance model adds a winged carbon fibre splitter, huge exhausts and racing red sports seats. Oh and then there’s the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 320hp and a 0-62 in less than six seconds.

Already a hot hatch legend in the world of cars, in April 2017 the pre-production Type R achieved a lap time of 7:43.80 on the world-famous Nürburgring racetrack. This was almost seven seconds faster than its predecessor, setting a new record for front-wheel drive cars.

One of the most alluring performance cars still available, offering both performance and looks, all at a price that leaves many other manufacturers to shame, what’s not to love about the Type R? A sensible choice in Forza Horizon 5, but a special choice in real life.

Porsche Taycan Turbo

No list like this would be complete without a Porsche, and while we could have gone the obvious route and picked a 911 we decided to highlight Porsche’s first production electric car instead.

The Taycan Turbo is based on the Mission E concept, originally revealed at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, and features a variety of styling features synonymous with Porsche. This includes the fundamental short-nosed front proportions of traditional Porsches while also including a retractable rear spoiler, retractable door handles, and an advanced regenerative braking system.

And as for the performance, it’s as eye-catching as the car itself. With 761ps of power meaning a ludicrous 0-62 time of just 2.8sec leading to a top speed of 161mph, it’s very much the sports car of the future. And how do those stats impact its range? 245 miles are available according to ev-database.uk meaning there’s plenty of fun to be had both in Forza Horizon 5 and on the road.
