The all-new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance can go from 0-60mph in just 2.9 seconds.

Mercedes has reached a new milestone with its most powerful series-production to date, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance. With a system output of 620 kW (843 hp) and a maximum system torque of more than 1400 Nm, the four-door coupé accelerates from a standstill to 60mph in just 2.9 seconds.

The manufacturer’s first performance hybrid, the E Performance uses technology from Formula 1. Mercedes’ hybrid strategy is forging an autonomous technical path to transport with an independent drive layout. This includes an electric motor and battery on the rear axle.

In addition, the E Performance combines a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine with the synchronic electric motor. The high-performance battery, developed by AMG, is teamed with the fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system.

This sequence gives way to outstanding driving dynamics, superior on-road performance, and impressive efficiency.

The new model offers extensive standard equipment too. With its continuously adjustable pressure relief valves, the AMG Ride Control+ suspension adjusts the damping force for each wheel to match the driving situation in just a few milliseconds.

The AMG Dynamic Select drive programmes are used to preselect the basic set-up – from Sport+ mode for particularly dynamic driving to the Comfort setting for smooth gliding. The tuning can also be adjusted in three stages independently of the drive programmes via a button.

Increasing agility without negatively affecting the vehicle’s stability, the integrated AMG Dynamics driving control system influences, among other things, the control strategies of the ESP (Electronic Stability Programme). It also manages the all-wheel drive and the electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential.

The ceramic high-performance compound brake system is lightweight, has a long service life and is exceptionally high stability.

The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance has a classy and sleek exterior.

As with the entire model series, the new Performance hybrid offers a wide range of customisation options too.

The 21-inch AMG forged wheels in a 5-twin-spoke design with a high-sheen finish to the rim add a sporty look. The AMG Night Package features selected exterior elements in high-gloss black and dark chrome. There is also black foiling above the side sills which are sleek and sporty.

The AMG Aerodynamics Package is also available as an option. The standard panoramic roof lets plenty of light into the vehicle interior. The optional AMG Performance seats as well as the AMG trim elements in black piano-lacquer or, on request, carbon, create an unfiltered motorsport atmosphere.

Exclusive paintwork and high-quality interior finishes are also part of the package. The range includes paint finishes such as Manufaktur classic grey uni or olive metallic, and various leather colours. Additionally, there is a two-tone leather steering wheel, deep-pile floor mats with embroidered AMG lettering and decal sets in three colour variants for the side skirts.

The E Performance model is priced from £173,655 with deliveries starting in April.
