Manchester United’s Top Performing Cars

11th August 2017

The football season is returning this weekend and it is yet another chance for Manchester United to take that top spot. Keeping in mind that they have some of the best players in the world, it is worth considering whether they also have the best cars in the world too.

These are the cars of the top players in the Manchester United football team and obviously their manager, Jose Mourinho.

Jose Mourinho – Jaguar XF

He is the manager of arguably one of the most famous football clubs in the world and he has chosen a Jaguar XF as his vehicle of choice. Jaguar delivered well with the Jaguar XF, ensuring they had a high-quality saloon ready to take on the likes of their German rivals.

Jaguar XF

The current XF is powered by 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium engines. Depending on the one you choose, you will either have 161 bhp or 178 bhp to play with. The former allows the XF to dash from 0-60 mph in 8.7 seconds whilst the latter rushes from 0-60 mph in 8 seconds flat. There is also choice of a more powerful 2.0-litre diesel engine which is twin-turbocharged, developing 240 bhp and sails from 0-60 mph in 6.6 seconds.

The interior is more likely what Jose is interested in. Jaguar has always focused on delivering an exquisite interior with plush leather seats, minimalist centre console design with a touchscreen in the centre. The steering wheel has a selection of controls for the driver to play with whilst on the move.

Phil Jones – Bentley Continental GT Onyx

Jones has chosen a Bentley. Not just any Bentley, but an Onyx Bentley. This is a Bentley taken by a Custom Car Tuner Onyx who transforms the car into another version of itself. The body kit is altered to look sportier and more aggressive than the original.

Bentley Continental GT ONYX

The body kit increases the size and the air vents at the front look as if they could suck just about anything into them (poor hedgehogs). The alloys are slicker and the colours brighter. Onyx added a spoiler to the back of Jones’ Bentley to give it that sporty finishing touch.

The Bentley Onyx performs exactly like any other Bentley Continental GT as you will discover thanks to another Manchester United player.

Paul Pogba – Mercedes GLS

Pogba has chosen the top line Mercedes SUV to as his ride. It is spacious and boxy ensuring he has loads of available space inside. It has seven seats that are all full-sized to give a six-foot tall adult enough space for comfortable travelling.

Mercedes GLS

Pogba will have a commanding driving position that’s to this old school design. The front seats are also electrically adjustable seats, ensuring Pogba can have his perfect seating position.

It is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 engine developing 258 bhp. It runs from 0-60 mph in 7.8 seconds and hits a top speed of 137 mph. It also delivers a fuel economy of 37.2 mpg.

Chris Smalling – Bentley Continental GT

We are back with the Bentley Continental GT thanks to Chris Smalling. This is the original Bentley rather than an Onyx modified model.  There are two engines to power Bentley’s grand tourer and neither are small.

Bentley Continental GT

There are a 6.0-litre W12 and a 4.0-litre V8 engine. The twin-turbocharged W12 develops a whopping 635 bhp, with a top speed of 206 mph and it rushes from 0-60 mph in 4 seconds flat. The V8 engine produces 507 bhp and has the slightly less top speed of 188 mph. It does, however, dash to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds so only a fraction slower than the W12.

Bentley focus on delivering vivid opulence to all their cars and the same goes for the Continental GT. Bentley doesn't squander opportunities to make a top rate cabin with everything being built with the most luxurious of materials and the cabin refined to keep out excessive outside noise. It is a place of extravagance and comfort not to be missed.

Marouane Fellaini – Mercedes SLS

Marouane treated himself to a Mercedes SLS, the flagship supercar of the German brand before they replaced it with their current AMG GT model. The old model was powered by an immense 6.2-litre V8 engine developing 563 bhp. It runs from 0-60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and hits a top speed of 197 mph.

Mercedes SLS

This is the car with the gorgeous gullwing doors that make getting in and out of the car much easier (except maybe in a car park). The handling of this car was always superb thanks to the F1-style suspension, advanced traction and stability systems installed by Mercedes. This meant the ride was comfortable and the steering was sharp.

It was perfect for cruising around town and tearing up the motorway depending upon your need and desire. It is an utterly thrilling car to drive.

Luke Shaw – Range Rover

There had to be at least one Manchester United player with a Range Rover and that honour goes to Luke Shaw. This is THE luxury SUV that dominates both on the road and off-road. No other luxury SUV comes close to taking the mantle off the Range Rover.

Range Rover

The most powerful Range Rover available has a 5.0-litre supercharged petrol V8 engine developing 510 bhp. Considering this car isn’t light (around 2 tonnes),it surges from 0-60 mph in just 5.5 seconds. It also hits a top speed of 140 mph, which again considering the size of the Range Rover is highly impressive.

Inside the large cabin, you will experience sumptuous seats that hold you in comfort whether cruising, exploring or cornering. There is plenty of space for four six-foot tall adults and the boot space is an immense 909-litres of capacity with all the seats up.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Lamborghini Aventador

Now we get to talk about the wild and bonkers Aventador. It is an ultra-modern Italian supercar that delivers stupendous amounts of power and speed, whilst still looking incredible.

Lamborghini Aventador

Under the Aventador’s bonnet, there is a 6.5-litre V12 Italian engine. It develops a serious 691 bhp. With that incredible power, the Aventador races from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds and a mind-boggling top speed of 217 mph. It is unsurprising a footballer from one of the most famous clubs in the world, owns one of the astounding cars in the world.

Lamborghini also enjoys creating unique interiors with the Aventador looking more like a jet-fighter on the inside than a normal car. This car has the classic scissor doors into true leather comfort, ready for some hair raising fun.
