Vans are an important investment for any business and may be essential for you to carry out your day to day work. Many businesses, small and large rely on finding the perfect size, engine, model and agreement to suit their business best.
At Hippo Leasing, we have over 2,000 business van leasing deals available online and we can source any make or model that you are looking for, tailoring a quote that matches your budget and affordability.
With this in mind, we have picked three of our most practical business van leasing deals available, to focus on in more detail.
Citroen Berlingo L1
The Citroen Berlingo van is offered in two slightly different variants, the L1 and L2. Both of which have an identical wheel base but offer different length bodies. The L1 features a higher payload, being the shorter model of the two with the L2 only offering an extra body section sitting behind the rear axle.
The 1.6 litre petrol engine L1 is a popular choice amongst many, with its simple design, high payload and durable construction. Not to mention climbing from 0-62 mph in a respectable 13.2 seconds, with a top speed of 107 mph.
Driving around in the Berlingo, the cab isn’t the most spacious as the limited seat adjustment and narrow footwell mean that the taller individuals out there will struggle. Though, in terms of storage a full width windscreen storage shelf sits at the front of the van, with added map reading lights either side for driver and passenger. The ‘Extenso’ passenger seat also folds up to allow extra room, revealing a desk and cup holders.
As for kit, all Berlingo models include ABS, central locking, electric front windows, a trip computer, CD Stereo and adjustable mirrors as standard. If this isn’t as technologically advanced as you wish, the upgrade options available are endless, ranging from front and rear parking sensors and a reversing camera, to optional ‘Active City Brake’ system, which scans the road ahead for any potential hazards.
The dashboard houses logically arranged dials, however the placement of the electric window switches seems odd placed on the central dashboard, rather than the doors, and the optional USB charging port is found underneath the passenger footwell.
Ford Transit Custom 270 L1
The Custom has quickly become the UK’s best-selling commercial vehicle and the obvious choice for medium van buyers. Like most other van models in this sector, the Ford Transit Custom comes with a choice of two load lengths and two roof heights, offering a higher payload of 683kg – 1,484 kg depending on your choice.
The Custom comes with Ford’s 2.0 litre Diesel EcoBlue TDCI engine, all mated to a six-speed manual gearbox which racks up a top speed of 99 mph and darts from 0-60 mph in just 13.2 seconds, as well as offering increased power and torque, with cleaner exhaust emissions.
Out on the motorway, or sailing down the street, the Custom travels smoothly and handles well through corners and bends. It isn’t quite as refined as some of its competitors, with both road and engine noises noticeably louder within the cabin.
The entry level Custom comes complete with a range of equipment including trip computer, two 12V sockets, electric front windows, a radio with Bluetooth and eight-way adjustable driver’s seat and steering wheel. If you spend most of your day in the van and require some other extras, your upgrade options include a full range of beneficial add on’s like DAB radio, heated seats and a rear-view camera to name a few.
The shorter Custom model can carry three europallets no problem, and all models feature an easy-clean load floor liner with tie down rings in the floor and lower walls as standard. With a comfortable cab, plenty of loadspace and a reliable drive on offer, it’s easy to see why the Ford Transit is such a popular model, with a range of different specifications on offer to fit you best. We also have a range of no deposit van leasing deals, if this is an option that you are looking to explore when leasing a van.
Citroen Relay L3
A recent update has evolved the Relay in more than one area, with new headlights and a grille inspired by the newer range of Citroen cars. The doors and brakes have been rigorously tested and upgraded for durability and safety, the interior technology and quality has been advanced, with extra options available on the spec sheet, and the engine range expanded to improve emissions and fuel economy.
The list of updates have helped keep the Relay at the top of its game amongst competitors, and although it doesn’t match the Ford Transit or Mercedes Sprinter in terms of driving, it does have a wide equipment range, body styles and practical cabin size.
The 2.0 litre diesel engine features stop-start technology and feeds through a six-speed manual gearbox, with a maximum loading weight of 1,525 kg. The Relay features the widest load bays in this sector, meaning it can fit a wide europallet in easily. The steel bulkhead comes as standard, with plenty of fix points available in the van to partition the cabin and load space.
The Citroen Relay itself is an easy drive, with high visibility and light steering, and the 130 model is powerful enough to stay content in its highest gear when out on the motorway.
The addition of a small touchscreen, gives the interior a slightly modern touch. Though you can optionally upgrade from the standard trim to Entreprise, which adds air conditioning, cruise control, the touchscreen audio pack with five-inch colour screen, rear parking sensors and perimetric alarm. This upgrade might make your daily routine more bearable in the cabin, as well as providing handy parking sensors to assist with manoeuvring the large van into a tight spot.
If you are interested in the Citroen Relay, or would prefer the upgraded kit but you aren't sure about your credit, don't worry. There are a range of viable bad credit van lease deals available through Hippo to help you get to grips with the perfect deal.
