Best Toys For Car Loving Kids

14th December 2016

Christmas is almost here and let’s be honest, it is the best time of year. You can spend time with the family and watch as your kid’s face lights up with joy as they open their presents. It is also a good time to learn of about your love of cars through the presents you buy them.

You could go for Disney princesses or the latest Star Wars lightsaber like all the other parents, or you could take the chance to buy your children a large collection of car related toys. You may even need to lease a van to transport it all.

Lego Speed Champions

If your child is old enough, then they will likely either be interested or at least have heard of Lego… It’s impossible not to have done. Well, Lego has helped you out this year by launching their racing car range of Speed Champions.

Does your child have a favourite car? With Lego Speed Champions, they will have a chance to own models of some of the most famous cars manufactured in recent years. These include the original and the new Chevrolet Camaro Drag Race set, the new 2016 Ford Mustang GT set and the holy trinity of hybrid hypercars: Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 & Porsche 918 Spyder. There are an increasing variety of other sets, so start your child’s car dreams early with these amazing Lego sets.

Just Hot Wheels

Hot Wheels has been the staple toy for car loving kids for decades, and they are still just as popular today and they have ever been. Hot Wheels now offer great levels of choice for your children. They can collect models of real world cars like the BMW M4, Porsche 934 Turbo RSR, and the 2017 Ford GT.

However, Hot Wheels goes beyond that now. If your child is a big comic book fan, they have a choice of which incarnation of the batmobile they can choose. Whether it is the brand new armoured batmobile from Batman VS Superman, the one from the original TV series or the Tumbler from Christopher Nolan’s trilogy. They don’t stop there either.

You can collect Hot Wheel versions of some of their favourite DC Comics and Marvel characters such as Wonder Woman, Deadshot, Captain America, Iron Man and Spiderman. There are many other collections, including several Hot Wheels Original creations as well as Star Wars, Super Mario Brothers and The Fast and Furious Series.

Forza and more

For those of you with older children who have game consoles, you have a variety of games to choose from this Christmas. Forza Horizon 3 is the top racing video game available and has been universally critically acclaimed. You can play as the Horizon Festival Director, which for this game is based in Australia and you can compete in some of the most beautiful cars ever created.

In reality, most of us will not drive these gorgeous supercars we see on films, Top Gear or the Grand Tour. Forza Horizon 3 is an opportunity to make that dream at least, a virtual reality. You can race in a 2012 Aston Martin Vanquish, drift in a 2017 Nissan GT-R and rip through the Australian countryside in a Ferrari 488 GTB.

Forza Horizon 3 racing

Whilst Forza Horizon 3 is road based rather than track based, there are two track race games to choose from that could fulfil your child’s dream of being a racing driver. You have Forza Motorsport 6 that allows you to drive over 450 cars on 26 different race tracks. Not bad right?

But if your child is a huge fan of Lewis Hamilton or Sabastian Vettel and dreams of being in Formula 1, then consider getting them F1: 2016 and let them race around in their favourite driver’s F1 racing car. It is tougher than most racing video games as it tries to follow all of F1’s regulations, but it can still be fun and enjoyable.

Disney Cars!

Car loving kids are usually in love with Disney’s Cars (Have you shown them the new trailer?) and this Christmas, Disney have splashed out on a variety of toys that you can give to your children. You can get character collections that include the three Piston Cup competitors, Lightning McQueen, The King, and Chick Hicks or there is a variety of McQueen versions you can choose from in die-cast model form.

For those kids learning to ride a bike for the first time and require stabilisers, Disney offers you a variety of Car’s themed bike for different sizes. There is always a Tri-Scooter available for those kids who aren’t ready to learn how to ride a bike, but are ready to go a little bit faster than their own feet can carry them.

Even though they are not old or big enough to drive yet, you can help them to begin their car loving craze early on. But whilst you may be treating your children to a variety of car-themed toys this Christmas, why not treat yourself as well?
