Take a look at some of the most memorable vans from our favourite movies! Looking to lease a van of your own? Make sure to check out some of our best van leasing deals.

Scooby Doo

We couldn’t start off our movie van list without mentioning one of the most iconic vans out there; the Mystery Machine. From the popular TV series and movie franchise ‘Scooby Doo’, the Mystery Machine is the van that Scooby and the crime-fighting gang use when traveling across the globe. The 1960s era panel van has become so popular, that is has almost as much of a cult following as the gang themselves. In tribute, many fans have even decorated their own vans to resemble the Mystery Machine.

The A-Team

Famous enough to have its own display at the 2010 New York International Auto Show, the 1983 GMC Vandura Van is a true pop culture icon. The black and grey van has a characteristic red stripe round the middle, and was made famous by the crew of the A-Team: Hannibal, Face, Murdock and B.A Baracus. Feel like showing off to your friends? You can actually hire the van! We wouldn’t recommend pulling any of the stunts from the film though.

Dumb and Dumber

We’re pretty sure it’s not road-legal, but the famous Mutt Cutts van from Dumb and Dumber is a huge fan favourite, almost as famous as the actual actors themselves. The van in the movie has been decorated to look like a giant dog, meaning it comes complete with shaggy fur, ears and a nose. Luckily for fans of the vehicle, it’s making another appearance in the Dumb and Dumber sequel. We can’t imagine how much of a nightmare it would be to wash though.

Italian Job

When you think of the Italian Job, the first car that pops into your mind is probably the star of the film; the Mini Cooper. However, we’ve gone in a different direction and chosen the exploding van as our favourite. During the memorable scene with Michael Caine playing Charlie Croker, we see as the van is accidentally blown up, thus giving birth to the famous and well-known quote “You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!”. Although only on screen for a few moments, the van will stick with us forever.

Ghost Busters

No famous movie van list would be complete without a small tribute to the Ghostbusters van. The actual van is a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor, affectionately named ‘Ecto-1’. The ambulance/hearse combination was the sole mode of transportation for the Ghostbusters, as they travelled through New York battling the supernatural. Fans of the van can rejoice, as this famous and well-liked vehicle will be back again for the Ghostbusters reboot!
