Top Family Cars In Autumn 2017

24th October 2017

As much as Summer excited us all, Autumn is where the real magic happens. The season of hot water bottle hugging, blanket snuggling, family road tripping and most importantly half term. What’s not to love?

As families are busy preparing to whisk away or take some rest, we have been compiling a list of a few of the best family cars for you and here it is.

Because as much as we all love strolling through crunchy amber leaves, a snug heated car with a bit of Michael Bublé is always a winner.

Nissan Qashqai

Nissan certainly lived up to their strapline ‘Innovation That Excites’ with the Qashqai. The Nissan Qashqai has become the origin of the small family SUV phenomenon, combining the style of 4x4 and running costs of a hatchback.

We’ve all heard the phrase ‘size isn’t everything’ but when catering for mum’s suitcase-sized handbag, a battle zone for the siblings and dad’s giant self, size IS everything. There’s enough space in the Qashqai to accommodate all these essentials. The 430-litre boot space is enough for a couple of suitcases or a weekly shop.

As much as we all wish, getting a new car is not as easy as getting the kids to make a mess. In fact, it’s almost as difficult as getting them to eat their greens (very very very difficult). With countless makes and models to choose from, the choices are endless. And the choices do not stop once you have chosen the right model for you. There are two petrol and two diesel additions of the Qashqai, each with either a manual or automatic transmission. You can speak to one of our account managers today to help you find the right car for you.

Performance, comfort, ease of drive, reliability, affordability… There’s not much the Qashqai doesn’t have.

Vauxhall Astra

Like tea is the British drink of choice, an Astra is the British car of choice. So, let’s see if this popular kid on the block deserves its spot.

Everyone and everything seems to be on the dieting bandwagon at the moment and the Astra is no different. Astra’s recent 200kg weight loss is certainly apparent behind the wheel. Seamlessly getting by Britain’s infamous bends has been made easier than ever. It’s not just the weight of the Astra that is perfect for the roads of our nation but also its chassis. The British-built Vauxhall Astra had its chassis designed and built especially for UK roads – a bragging right many rivals do not hold.

The Vauxhall Astra has held a well-deserved top spot in the car market for decades and with its many strengths it is a strong contender.

Volkswagen Golf

As you could have probably guessed, the Golf has inevitably made it on our list of the top family cars. This Volkswagen edges more towards the premium end of the family hatchback range. Like all nicer things in life, the Golf comes at a price. Although the Golf does not come with the cheapest price tag in comparison to its competitors, it is an excellent all-rounder.

The regular Volkswagen Golf comes in a three or four-door version. And for the more daring ones amongst you, Volkswagen has got you covered. Who says a family car has got to be boring? There’s a flavour for every palate – a speedy GTI, speedier R, hybrid GTE and electric e-Golf.

Cost-wise, Volkswagen Golfs are a more luxurious option than an Astra or a Qashqai but triumph as a car of the most all-around talents.
