Since its launch in 1996 the Citroen Berlingo panel van has sold over 1.5 million units and continues to be a major player in the small panel van sector. Citroen again rises to the occasion and gives small van owners what they want with their latest, third generation, van.
There are two sizes: M and XL which are 4.4 metres and 4.75 metres long and the practical all-rounder comes in two trims, the Worker and the Driver. The worker is more rugged and built to withstand rough ground and a hard day on the likes of building sites with a slightly raised suspension, a higher payload (1,000kg) and an easy to clean floor. The Driver on the other hand is set up for longer distances with a bit more comfort in nose reducing insulation, dual zone climate control, cruise control, an eight-inch infotainment screen and a wide-angle rear vision camera.
The van has dedicated seating for three people with all sorts of clever seat configurations, so you can easily change to move from carrying long objects to using the middle seat as a handy table. The standard van loads 3.3 cubic metres.
Engine choice revolves around a 1.2 litre petrol or a 1.5 litre diesel but as the Berlingo van is so new, engine options still need to be confirmed.
