New Nissan Juke vs current Nissan Juke: What’s the difference and is it worth the price increase?

The Nissan Juke is a regular on the roads of Britain. Its compact, hatchback size, coupled with the ride height of an SUV makes it almost unique. 

In styling terms it certainly is. Its sharp edges, hidden door handles and sleek, sloped roof are art-like. And inside it’s no different. 

A mixture of cool black and silver provide an elegant yet not entitled finish. While its screens and switches carry quality. In truth, for the price, there isn’t much else, if anything that rivals the Juke for value. 

And now, there’s a new one. So, what’s the difference, and is it worth the price increase? 

The New Nissan Juke

The first thing you notice about the new Juke is its similarity in shape to its predecessor. It’s true what they say, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. 

Still compact in size with a high driving position and imposing front end, the new Juke starts off at more than £17,000.

For your money, you get the entry-level spec; the Visia. With it comes 16” alloy wheels, LED headlights, air-con, cruise control and a 4.2-inch touchscreen system.

There are four more specs available for you to choose from, with the list price topping out at near enough £24,000. 

So, is it worth it? 

The New Nissan Juke vs The Current Nissan Juke 

I suppose it depends if paying the extra is worth it. If you have a spare few thousand pounds lying around, then go for it. 

But, the Juke Visia – the entry-level spec, which sets you back more than £17,000 – isn’t much different to the Acenta in its current form. 

The Acenta, which, with Hippo Leasing, you can get your hands on for just £154.99 a month with a £1394 deposit, comes with an abundance of features.

For the new shape Juke; a 1-litre Visia, you’re looking at £199.05 a month with a £1,791.45 deposit. 

For a new car, especially a new Juke, that’s incredible value. 

However, for the current shape; a 1.6-litre Acenta, you’ll pay almost £45 a month less with a smaller, £1394.91 deposit.

Which Juke Would You Buy? 

It’s not often I do this; add my opinion. Mostly because you probably don’t want to hear it. But I think in this scenario it’s fair to do so.

You’d probably expect me to recommend the new Juke. It would make sense, wouldn’t it? Get you spending as much as possible. 

Well, if you know Hippo, you know that’s not how we work. We genuinely want what’s best for you. And in my opinion, I don’t see why you’d pay £45 a month more for a slight facelift. 

In terms of spec, size, ride height, mileage and the majority of the aesthetics, nothing much has changed. I think that for the money, you’re better off getting one of our low-price, 69-plate Jukes.
