The Volkswagen Passat ploughs its own furrow. It doesn't carry the status baggage that comes with the premium German marques but it's certainly an executive saloon with some daylight between itself and other more mainstream manufacturers.

The top end Passat R-Line on the other hand has 18-inch alloys, a panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control and a 12.3-inch active info dash display.
