Mercedes-Benz A Class: Review

16th February 2016

The Mercedes-Benz A Class is the car to go for if your main aim is driving to impress. Topped off with extremely good looks and modern design, the A Class won’t let you down. As well as this, the A Class has an impressively wide range of clever technology and high-tech safety. Overall, the A Class is superb value for money, and is a great personal car leasing choice if you don’t feel like buying outright.

Performance & Drive

The A Class isn’t at the top of the list when it comes to the driving aspect, due to its lack of direct steering. It has plenty of grip, but when it comes to the roads in the UK, it’s way too firm. It’s not all bad though, as the A Class is definitely still fun to drive, with its 18-inch alloys which helps with acceleration. The A Class is able to reach 62mph in just 4.6 seconds, which is quite impressive too. The diesel engine is a powerful choice to go for, but can be far too noisy at times and sounds a bit rough when driving at higher speeds.

The new design of the A Class means that everything has been improved and revamped to create a much sportier feel, as well as being able to fit in the entire family with ease and comfort. The A Class is much wider and lower than the previous design, which might be a pain for passengers who are taller, as they’ll have to tilt their heads ever so slightly to fit in. Other than that though, the design is far better than previous ones. The overall feel and look of the car is incredible, and it does look amazing with its new design features such as bonnet creases, LED daytime running lights, and grilles, which give it a fierce and sporty style.

Cabin & Style

The classy interior easily makes up for any awkward low roof designs, because the interior design and overall feel is incredibly sophisticated and sleek. There’s bundles of room inside, especially when it comes to leg space, and there’s more than enough room in both the front and back. On the downside, the boot is quite narrow, so you may struggle to fit larger objects in there. Some of the interior plastics could be higher-quality too. However, the A Class is at least fitted with up-to-date technology such as a USB socket and Bluetooth connectivity.

The A Class is totally ahead of the game when it comes to safety, as well as being on top of new technology with its use of high-tech kit. Other than a couple of design flaws which let it down slightly, it’s still a brilliant drive nonetheless. A great choice if you’re looking to impress, as well as being great value for money.
