Long trips can sometimes get a little dull and tiring, and it’s easy to start feeling sleepy. So before you set off on your big trip, make sure you get plenty of rest. And if possible, switch drivers every so often, so the other can take a nap. Caffeine is a great way to keep you alert for a few hours, but remember that this will soon wear off. Tiredness can kill, so make sure you’re fully prepared.

You’ll need to make sure that your car is in the best possible condition before you set off. Make sure you have enough petrol, check for any warning lights on your dashboard, and fix any other issues that your car may be experiencing. You don’t want to end up breaking down in the middle of nowhere! Vehicle prep includes looking after your tyres too, which some people may forget to check. Tyres will need the correct amount of pressure and have enough tread. Don’t forget to also check your headlights, oil levels, windscreen wipers, and brakes, to make sure you don’t have any other unexpected mishaps whilst you’re on your trip.
