Hyundai Motors UK announces Ioniq 6 First Edition

The wait is finally over. Hyundai Motors UK have revealed the pricing and specifications of the Ioniq 6 First Edition. This model is the first of the long-awaited and highly anticipated Ioniq 6 range to be fully unveiled. It is also the second model of the Ioniq all-electric vehicle line-up brand to be released. 

Hyundai Motors UK: Exterior

The sleek exterior design of the Ioniq 6 is sure to be a crowd pleaser with its athletic dimensions and aerodynamic surfaces. The car exhibits a super low drag coefficient as a result of its low-sitting front surfaces, along with an active air flap at both the front and rear gap reducers.

Glossy black mouldings on the front, sides, and rear emphasise the car’s streamlined appearance, whilst the 20-inch wheels – with their striking matte black finish – hint at the vehicle’s on-road intentions. It is also the first Hyundai model to feature the refreshed ‘H’ emblem, now in black aluminium.

The Ioniq 6 First Edition is available in four exterior body colours namely Biophilic Blue Pearl, Gravity Gold Matte, Nocturne Grey Metallic, and Serenity White Pearl.

Hyundai Motors UK: Interior

The impressive design of the Ioniq 6 First Edition continues inside the vehicle. Hyundai have focused their attention on not only providing an exceptionally comfortable interior, but on the use of sustainable and environmentally friendly materials as well. 

The cocoon-shaped cabin offers plenty of space including excellent legroom, along with an abundance of practical features designed to make the driver’s life easier.

Material wise, Hyundai have selected options that are strong, durable, and sustainable in nature. These include the bio-TPO skin for the dashboard finish, along with the recycled PET fabric used in the seats. Additionally, bio-PET fabric made from ECONYL – a regenerated nylon yarn often used to create sustainable products – has been used in the headliner and floor mats.

A selection of design details unique to the new Ioniq 6 First Edition, are on option for all customers. These include exclusive combination seats featuring Grey Tartan – inspired by the Hyundai’s Prophecy EV concept. Another notable design element of the interior are the First Edition ECONYL floor mats with Grey Tartan highlights. 

The new Ioniq 6 will soon be available in two additional trim levels – Premium and Ultimate. Both the pricing and specifications of these high-end options will be released by Hyundai in the very near future.

Hyundai Motors UK: Engine, Tech and Drive

The Ioniq 6 First Edition is equipped with a range of state-of-the-art technologies and is only the second Hyundai model to have been constructed on the group’s E-GMP platform.

The First Edition is powered by a 77.4 kWh battery with all-wheel drive powertrain. This configuration provides up to 325PS of power and 605 Nm of torque.

The E-GMP platform’s 800-volt charging system features ultra-fast charging compatibility, and contains an effective battery heating system – ensuring optimised charging time no matter the conditions. This setup provides the Ioniq 6 First Edition with an extended range of up to 320 miles on a single charge (WLTP-combined).

Hyundai Motors UK: Price and Services

Customers are awarded a free one-year subscription to IONITY Premium package through ‘Charge myHyundai’ – the company’s pan-European integrated charging service. This initiative provides access to over 400,000 charging points across Europe, including both AC and DC connectors.

The limited edition Ioniq 6 First Edition, with its streamliner styling and long-distance EV performance is now available for purchase – providing customers with the opportunity to be amongst the very first in the UK to secure one of these premium vehicles.
